Golf Tournament

While Danes aren't particularly known for their golfing prowess, this is one area where the 'Canadian' part of the Red Deer Danish Canadian Club comes in.

Each year in late August, members and guests gather for a fun-filled 'best-ball' tournament.  Serious golfers might be disappointed as the emphasis is on fun with a few 'Danish' twists thrown in such as putting with the unique 'Viking Putter' and trying to hit the Viking warrior on the fairway.  There's also Akvavit!

Each year the winning team gets the option of hosting the next year's event, so there's always a new twist or two.

Unfortunately we have had to bid farewell to Top 'O The Hill which is closed, but we have moved a few hundred meters south to the Lakewood Golf Course.  Since Lakewood is a full sized course (9 holes), this means the costs go up a bit, but head pro, Scott Bergdahl is promising a great experience, along with some great prizes.
